Wild Thang Mane

Wild thang! That's what I'll call Virginia's hair these days.

Yes, we do wash, comb, and decorate her hair with lots of bows, but it still ends up looking like this.

Virginia seems to be growing hair like a maniac these days. New hair is coming in by the minute, I believe! We think she looks so cute with her new hair, but why wouldn't we? I've been told about a hair lotion called Nestle's. I've found it online and am very tempted to order some to tame this wild mane.

Do you see my crazy hair?

I took this picture this afternoon while we were watching USA vs. Canada hockey game, in the FINAL 2010 Winter Olympic event. Needless to say, Eric was very into it! Can you tell? Virginia, not so much. We have LOVED watching the Olympics these last 2 weeks. We're sad they're over, but looking forward to London 2012!

Winter Wonderland

I feel like I should be singing White Christmas, um, White Valentine's as I post these pictures. Friday our home was blanketed with 4-5 inches of snow. I'm sure most of you have seen pictures, heard stories, and even experienced the white stuff yourself. Here is our version!

It began snowing here around 9:30 and didn't stop until about 5:30. It was beautiful. As the day progressed, the snow flakes got bigger and heavier! We loved playing in it. Virginia also loved the snow! Too bad she isn't just a little bit older where she can really enjoy it. Oh well, maybe next year!

Snow starting to fall around 9:30

Finally, Eric made it home from work, and we all bundled up and went out to play!

Virginia was intrigued by her new shoes. She has never worn shoes before, so all she wanted to do was try to eat them!

Virginia got these sweet monogrammed mittens from her Great Aunt Amy, Uncle Lance, and cousins Palmer & Olivia for Christmas. They sure came in handy in the snow! She thinks they're yummy, too!

We're ready to play in the snow!

Are you my twin?

I think she was surprised by all the snowflakes!

Snowflakes are funny, Daddy!

Proof of just how deep the snow was.

Snow Angel

Look at the snow on my hands!

Snow tastes yummy on my mittens!

A Weekend Home

This past weekend we went home to the Eastern Shore/Mobile. Eric had the opportunity to lead worship for a marriage retreat hosted by Eastern Shore Baptist Church. The retreat was at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear. It was wonderful! We loved getting away and staying some place new. Eric and I stayed at The Grand around the first part of November, last year. That week, we found out we were pregnant! How neat, huh? No, we didn't find out we were pregnant again since staying there! 1 is enough for now!

Isn't this place just lovely? I could go back today.

Sadly I didn't get ANY pictures while we were at The Grand. (the one above is taken from their website) I had every intention of taking some MUCH NEEDED family pictures while we were there. Oh well, guess that means we'll have to go back again for another stay!

After we left The Grand, we headed across the bay to The Blackmans'. We spent the rest of the weekend playing and enjoying each others company. Of course I didn't get ANY pictures with my camera (I did take it with me!), BUT my sister in law got some great shots of the nugget! You can check them out on her blog. (I think she does a better job of posting than me. Although she doesn't have a little nugget to take care of. Enjoy your free time now, Lou!)
We had a great time at home with family and friends. Sadly our time came to an end on Monday. On our way out of town, we got to stop by my old school to say hello to all my former co-workers. I so enjoyed seeing all of them and showing Virginia where Mommy used to work.

Now we're back to the old routine. The weather man says we will possibly have 1 - 3 inches of SNOW here tomorrow! I'm trying to talk Eric into staying home with us, so we can all play in the snow together. I'll let you know if the weather man's predictions come true.

Here are some pictures from last week. I think the snowman on Virginia's outfit is a good sign of what we may be doing tomorrow! (hopefully!)

A Friendly Visit from Home

Yesterday and last night we got to spend some time with two sweet girls from back home. Stephanie and Jane Addison Emrich came to stay with us for a night. We SO loved having them here. Jane Addison, who will be 2 this month, is such a precious little girl. Virginia had fun watching Jane Addison move all over our house. Maybe seeing Jane Addison walk will inspire Virginia to crawl soon!
Eric and I enjoyed seeing what the next year or so will hold for us as we played with Jane Addison. Eric even got to experience what bath time for a "soon to be 2 year old" is like! I think he's ready for the upgrade.

Jane Addison was so sweet with Virginia.

I think Virginia enjoyed playing with a "big girl!"

Two of a kind!

We're Back!

After a LONG hiatus from blogging, I'm back. Here are a few things that have been going on since our last post.........

Virginia celebrated her first Christmas with us. Both our families loved having a new addition to buy for!

She loves her new Sassy seat from JimPa and LiLi!

We enjoyed relaxing with family during the Christmas holidays.

Since then, we've been braving the COLD weather up our way!

I think the Sassy seat has gone to her head! Just call her "Sass!"

Eric got to see the Tide win it's 13th National Championship in Pasadena with our dear friend K.J. ROLL TIDE!

Loving her exersaucer! And loving making silly faces these days.

Daddy is always trying to tickle and kiss me.

We showered my dear friend Diana, who will be welcoming her son Miller into the world in February. Virginia can't wait to play with him!

These days V enjoys laughing and squealing for us on a regular basis.

You're so funny Mommy! Why is that thing always in my face making pictures?

Pretty girl!

I will try to do better at posting this year than I did last. (Emphasis on the word TRY!)

Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmas Tree!

This past week we "trimmed" our Christmas tree. Normally our tree is filled with ornaments we have collected over the last 4 years of our marriage, but this year we decided to skimp down a bit. Since we're in a rental house and most of our belongings are being stored in the garage, we decided to only get out a few Christmas decorations this time. Regardless of how "skimpy" our tree looks, it's still a tree! We love it just the same. The smell of the pine and the soft glow of the lights make it all worth while.
Virginia is mesmerized by the Christmas tree. She loves to look at the lights of the tree. Thankfully we don't have to deal with her wanting to pull the ornaments off this year! We let Virginia help us decorate the tree this year. She loved the ornament that had the bell inside of it. If it's shiny and makes a noise, she loves it!

I'm sure Eric loves that I posted this picture!

Merry Christmas!
