Easter 2011

Happy Resurrection Sunday! I hope you enjoyed a day filled with family, good food, egg hunting, and celebrating that our Savior reigns. We had a wonderful morning at church, then a restful, family filled afternoon. We are also celebrating our Daddy, Eric. He arrived home Friday, from a 9 day mission trip to Africa. Virginia and I are so happy to have Eric home and have soaked up every single moment with him.

Virginia experienced her first Easter egg hunt yesterday. She was doing so well, until she discovered that there was something inside each egg! After that, we could hardly get her to find more eggs. At least she had fun, right?!

Has anyone "attempted" to wrangle 4 one year olds for a posed picture? This is as good as it gets!

Brody had no part of posing for pictures. Playing is so much more fun!

Getting the hang of it......

Putting the egg in her "bag," as she calls it!

Discovering that there are goodies inside each egg

My girl loves to pick flowers. She got tired of hunting eggs and decided to pick flowers instead!

Easter Sunday 2011

I told her to stand still so I could take her picture. Instead she kept getting closer.....

and closer!

Holy, Holy! Hallelujah!

Warning: These videos may be boring to some, but I know a few people that will enjoy them! They may seem like the same video over and over again, but once again, I know a few people that will beg to differ! (Also, we love our nugget just a little bit! Can you tell?!)

As Eric was playing his guitar the other night, this is what transpired.........

This video is a little long, but still funny!

Sorry the beginning was so shaky. I love how in the middle of the video, Virginia busts out with, "Cheese!" She thought I was taking her picture! Also, not sure if you understood her at the very end, but she asks, "Hey Mama! How doing there?" What a nut!

We listen to Wee Sing bible songs in the car. I can tell that Virginia is picking up on some of the songs. Can you tell what song she was trying to sing in that video?

You may be tired of Virginia's beautiful singing by now, but here's one more.

Now you see what we get to enjoy each and every day. Have a great weekend!

Best Wishes

That's what my sister-in-law, Laura, and her FIANCE Brett will be hearing for a while now. Today, Brett proposed to Laura, and OF COURSE she said YES! We are so happy for them and are looking forward to the next few months of planning and prepping for the big day. Can't wait to see how God will use these two in their engagement and marriage.

Love you both! Welcome to the family, B- Rett!

p.s.....Be on the look-out for a super blog post about the engagement day, from Laura or my other sister-in-law, Amy.

Prom 2011

Well, that's what Eric and I thought when we got dressed up Tuesday night for an event. We never went to prom together, but we kind of felt like that's where we were going since we were all dressed up.

The Chamber of Commerce in LaGrange celebrated 100 years this past Tuesday night and we got to take part in the celebration. I told Eric that I couldn't remember the last time I saw him in a tuxedo. (I believe it was a friends wedding he was in.)

We had a great time at the event. Virginia stayed at a friends house and had a pizza picnic while Daddy and Mama ate some "fancy fixin's!"

P.S. Who else thinks that EB and VB are twins? Dead on in this picture, for the exception of hair color!

Walt Disney World 2011

What a week! A FUN week, I might add. We had a great time at "The Happiest Place on Earth!" I am not EVEN going to try to blog about our trip, or upload pictures. Instead, I will direct you here. My sister-in-law, Laura, did a FABULOUS job capturing our trip on camera and documented it along the way. I "hired" her as our photographer for the week at Disney. I think she did a pretty good job! Start towards the bottom of her blog and read up.

We had a great vacation, but we're SO GLAD to be home! I must go quickly, because my little muffin is calling me from her bed. Guess nap time is over! Have a great week!

Big Girl

Yep, my little girl is growing up. I mean, I already knew that, but as Virginia hits new milestones, I am reminded of that even more. New milestone: No more morning naps. Although, right now, she is taking advantage of a morning nap. (I think she is recuperating from the wild Super Bowl party last night!)

Truth be told, I'm having a hard time adjusting to Virginia's absence of the morning nap. Not real sure what to do with myself or VB! Now that we have this free time in the mornings, we will be able to get out and about early, instead of after lunch.

With that said, blogging has taken a back-seat to play time these days. It's just a little bit more fun to play with Virginia than blog!

Here are some recent pictures from my phone.......

VB loves to play with her cups in the kitchen. When she gets this Nalgene bottle out, she always says, "Amy!" Aunt Amy has a Nalgene bottle very similar to this one that she carries around all the time. Trying to be like Aunt Amy already!

Free cookie at Publix! After she finished this sprinkled sugar cookie, her mouth looked like a rainbow! Good thing Mommy had some wipes in her purse.

Virginia and her Daddy look just alike, but when they're asleep, IDENTICAL! (love you E!)

Early Valentine's Day present from LiLi and JimPa. Her favorite couple, Mickey and Minnie!

Speaking of Minnie and Mickey.......Virginia will be meeting them, IN PERSON, in exactly a week and a half! Yes, we're going to DISNEY! (Don't know whose more excited, me or Virginia! Probably ME!)

Be back later on this week (hopefully) with a post about our recent trip here. SO MUCH FUN!

Jack Frost

Jack Frost payed us a visit 2 nights ago, in the form of ICE! We have experienced snow for 2 years in a row now, but nothing like what came Sunday night.

As most of you know, the Southeast has been experiencing some pretty unusual weather these last two months. Instead of snow like our neighbors to the north, in Atlanta, we got ice. Lots of it, too! So much that Eric got to stay home a day and a half from work because of it! Woo hoo! What a wonderful treat for Virginia and I. It was so nice to stay home, be warm, and have fun as a family. Virginia loved her Daddy being here to snuggle with her in the mornings, eat lunch together, and play in the afternoons.

We braved the frigid temperatures and ventured out to see what this ice was all about..........(Keep in mind, this was late afternoon. Most of the ice had melted a good bit.)

Eric showed Virginia the icicles on the trucks. She loved rubbing her hands on them!

Earlier in the morning, the driveway and sidewalk were COVERED in ice!

Virginia wanted to walk SO BAD, but we were scared to let her down in a few areas. This part of the sidewalk was safe enough for her to walk on.

So happy to be free and loving the chilly air!

It was definitely a "boots only" kind of day!

See how the pine needles are frozen to the ground. So neat!

Daddy showing Virginia how to make footprints in the ice/snow

This stick was frozen on the bush! Eric tried to get it off the bush, and the stick broke.

All Virginia kept saying when we got back inside was, "sicle." She wanted to go get another sicle to play with!

Hope you and your family are warm and cozy today. More ice is expected tonight and in the morning here. Temperatures will not get out of the 20's tonight. Brrr!
